The smash-hit non-fiction podcast "Welcome to Night Vale" has been captivating audiences for a decade now. Written by the brilliant minds of Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Cranor, narrated by Cecil Baldwin, and produced by Night Vale Presents, this show has become a cultural phenomenon, and it is now celebrating its 10th anniversary with a coast-to-coast tour across the USA called “The Haunting of Night Vale”.
We were lucky enough to snag tickets to the sold-out performance held in Newark on April 21st. We were utterly entranced by the eerie happenings of the small desert town of Night Vale, expertly relayed through the unique and immersive style of the podcast.
But what sets "Welcome to Night Vale" apart from other podcasts is its incredible transmedia universe. Not only does it captivate listeners with twice-monthly episodes, narrating in the style of community updates the events occurring in Night Vale, but it has also spawned three best-selling novels based on the show's world. It's clear that even after ten years, "Welcome to Night Vale" is showing no signs of slowing down. (by Diletta Cenni in New York)
