Italian comedy group the Gialappa's Band lands on TV8 with GialappaShow, a new program airing from May 21, every Sunday at 9:30 p.m. on TV8, while also being simulcast on Sky Uno. The 8x90’ TV show marks the first collaboration between the Gialappa's Band and Sky, after many years in Mediaset and Rai.
The show will not include Carlo Taranto, the third member of the original comedy trio of the Gialappa's Band, which will only be represented by Marco Santin and Giorgio Gherarducci, who have chosen comedian Mago Forest to host the program with a surprise female guest to present the show alongside him in each episode.
The cast will include several historical Italian comedy legends such as Ubaldo Pantani and Marcello Cesena, old acquaintances such as Brenda Lodigiani, Antonio Ornano, Stefano Rapone, Enrique Balbontin, Andrea Ceccon, and other comedians who will join the Gialappa's Band for the first time, such as Alessandro Betti, Toni Bonji, and Valentina Barbieri.
The style of the program is that of their much-loved older shows, such as the Mai Dire… franchise, but also bringing new comedians, characters and sketches to the table. With their renowned irony, a distinctive trademark of theirs, the Gialappa's Band will comment on major TV programs such as MasterChef Italia, X Factor, Pechino Express, Ex On the beach, major sporting events and the web’s hit videos.
A cappella band Neri Per Caso, composer and record producer Maestro Vittorio Cosma and many other guests will be involved in the comedians' sketches, embellishing the program even more.
Gialappashow is a program by Giorgio Gherarducci, Marco Santin, Lucio Wilson, written with Adriano Roncari, Michele Foresta and Antonio De Luca, Marco Vicari, Martino Migli, Giovanni Tamborrino, and Claudio Fois. Andrea Fantonelli is director of the show.
