Newen Studios appointed former Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) executive Pierre Branco as its new leader, succeeding Romain Bessi, who steps down from the role.
Branco, formerly the country manager for WBD in France, Benelux, and Africa, is set to assume his position at the TF1-owned company in April. As part of the reorganization, Rodolphe Belmer, TF1's chairman & CEO, will take on the role of chairman at Newen Studios.
Having departed WBD last year after an 18-month tenure in his most recent role and a cumulative 17 years with the company and its predecessors, Branco brings extensive industry experience to his new role. His previous positions include being the country manager for WarnerMedia in France, Benelux, Middle East, and Africa, head of affiliates & ad sales for EMEA, and leading the MENA region for Turner.
In his new role, Branco aims to position the company as the premier partner for traditional broadcasters and media platforms both in France and internationally. Newen Studios, with a presence in 11 countries and housing 50 labels, looks to solidify its standing in the entertainment industry.
During the transitional period over the next few months, Bessi, who has led Newen Studios for six years, will collaborate with Belmer. Bessi's future career move is yet to be disclosed.
