London Screenings 2024 to surpass the previous edition with a record of participants

The Screenings, initially conceived to leverage the presence of buyers attending the UK's BBC Studios Showcase, have established a reputation for their collaborative approach. The event is characterized by the concerted efforts of major UK-based distributors working together to craft a schedule that maximizes attendance across a diverse array of events.

A record number of international distributors attend the London TV Screenings in 2024. A total of 29 sales houses are represented at the Screenings, scheduled between Monday, February 26, and Friday, March 1 of next year. This marks a slight increase from last year's participation.

This cooperative spirit ensures that attendees have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of screenings and engagements, fostering a vibrant atmosphere conducive to networking and business interactions. The emphasis on collaboration underscores the collective commitment to advancing the interests of the industry while providing an enriching experience for all participants.

The founding companies — All3Media International, Banijay, Fremantle, and ITV Studios — along with numerous UK distributors such as Abacus Media Rights, Cineflix Rights, and Passion Distribution, are joined by esteemed counterparts like Beta Film from Germany, Federation Studios from France, Newen Connect, and Studiocanal, as well as Keshet International from Israel, and Viaplay Content Distribution and Eccho Rights from Scandinavia.

All of the primary U.S. studios, excluding Disney, will participate in the screenings. Fox Entertainment Global, NBCUniversal Formats, Paramount Global Content Distribution, and Warner Bros. International Television Production have all confirmed their presence, alongside Lionsgate and Fifth Season.

"The London TV Screenings 2024 is poised to surpass the success of the 2023 event, which is a noteworthy achievement given the current challenging circumstances," stated a spokesperson for the London TV Screenings. "Traditionally a 'must-attend' for London-based distributors, the event now warmly welcomes an increasing number of participants from overseas, solidifying its position as a pivotal moment in the industry calendar that will continue to expand and innovate year after year."

Red Arrow International highlights the new reality competition Reality Backpackers alongside updates on Stranded on Honeymoon Island and Married at First Sight.

Banijay has unveiled an enticing lineup for its exclusive London TV Screenings event – Banijay @ BAFTA.
Headlining the 2024 roster is the much-anticipated high-end scripted series Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light, alongside the premium documentary Front Row. Additionally, the event will feature an array of captivating traveling formats such as the adventure reality show The Summit and its spin-off, Deal or No Deal Island and the adventure reality format Shaolin Heroes for TV2, among others. Additionally, attention will be given to global superbrands and esteemed returning formats like "Survivor," "Big Brother," "Star Academy," as well as reality formats such as "Love Triangle" and "The Fifty."

Fremantle’s Entertainment headliners include Hot Mess Summer – a wild and unfiltered new reality format from Fremantle label Naked currently available on Prime Video in the UK and Ireland. The series, hosted by Rylan Clark, sees a group of eight hard-partying lovable liabilities jet off to Zante, but put to work for a summer running Zante’s busiest pool bar. Sense of Attraction is a brand-new original dating format from Fremantle label Strong Productions, where singletons try to find true love using only two senses: sight and sound. But not at the same time - when they see each other, they can’t speak - and when they speak, they can’t see one another. Returning shows include iconic word association game Password, which had 10 international versions in 2023 and returns for a second season in the US in March (hosted by Jimmy Fallon and Keke Palmer) and the acclaimed and uplifting reality TV format The Piano launching in the Netherlands and Denmark in 2024.

ITV STUDIOS presented itself as the Home of Love, showcasing a lineup of dating shows such as Love Island: All Stars, Love Island: Games, I Kiss a Boy/I Kiss a Girl, and My Mom, Your Dad. Additionally, they highlight their latest traitor-esque/murder mystery type show, A Party to Die For, which aired successfully last December on SBS6 in the NL.

A Party to Die For is an adventure reality game show where seven celebrities showcase their detective skills. In each episode, the celebrities are invited to a party, only to discover that one of them is murdered by a celebrity killer outside the group, canceling the party. The celebrity detectives must employ all their senses to uncover evidence, clues, and hints during investigation rounds to identify the killer.
