Serbian tennis star Djokovic became the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year for a fifth time
At the 2024 Laureus Sports Awards ceremony in Madrid, Novak Djokovic, Simone Biles, Aitana Bonmatí, and Jude Bellingham were among the distinguished winners. 

Alongside football luminaries like Alessandro Del Piero and Olympic champions such as Lindsey Vonn, the event celebrated outstanding achievements in sports. Djokovic's fifth Laureus World Sportsman of the Year title highlighted his tennis dominance, while Bonmatí made history as the first footballer to win the Sportswoman of the Year Award. Bellingham's breakthrough performance for Real Madrid earned him recognition, and Biles' triumphant return to gymnastics after a hiatus was honored with the Comeback of the Year Award. Additionally, Arisa Trew, Diede de Groot, and Fundación Rafa Nadal were recognized for their remarkable contributions to sports. The Laureus Awards underscored excellence across various athletic disciplines and celebrated individuals and organizations making a positive impact beyond the playing field.
