Mediapro Studio appoints former Paramount executive JC Acosta to spearhead its expansion into the US and Canada, inaugurating a new Los Angeles headquarters for the Spain-based company.

JC Acosta, who previously served as president of Paramount’s International Networks and Streaming for Southern Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa, will lead Mediapro Studio’s North American operations. Acosta brings extensive experience from his tenure overseeing international operations across various regions and platforms.

The establishment of the LA office signals Mediapro Studio's intent to bolster its English-language content portfolio, encompassing scripted and unscripted series, entertainment formats, feature films, and documentaries. This move complements the company's existing presence in Miami, New York, and Toronto, along with a production facility at Great Point Studios in Yonkers, New York.

While Mediapro Studio has operated in North America for over two decades, this expansion marks a strategic pivot towards enhancing its offerings in the English-language content market. Notable productions from the company's repertoire include "The Head," "The Young Pope," "Hunting Ava Bravo," "A Perfect Day," and "Map of the Sounds of Tokyo."
