CJ ENM has officially confirmed the 2nd season of Couple Palace, the couple matching survival show, after the successful conclusion of its 1st season.
Premiered on CJ ENM’s affiliate music channel Mnet in January 2024, the show is a grand-scale couple matching survival show where 100 singles gather at “Couple Palace” to seek out lifetime partners, ultimately aiming for marriage. The show features fifty men and fifty women from diverse backgrounds who reveal their detailed social status as they search for ideal partners based on factors such as marriage values, physical appearance, economic status, and lifestyle.
Developed by star producers Lee Sun-young and Jeong Min-seok, known for their global hits I Can See Your Voice and Love Catcher, respectively, Couple Palace has captivated viewers from various generations.
“While I Can See Your Voice was about discovering hidden talents passionate about music, Couple Palace tells the stories of 100 people aiming for marriage in a unique setting that combines survival and dating elements,” said Lee Sung-young, the mastermind behind both shows.
Sebastian Kim, the Director of CJ ENM’s International Content Sales, stated: “the commissioning of Couple Palace’s second season clearly demonstrates that the show’s candid yet profound portrayal of relationship dynamics related to marriage has resonated with audiences from diverse backgrounds. We believe the show will further captivate global audiences once localized in multiple regions.”
The show’s format has also garnered significant recognition from the global entertainment industry as a trending Korean dating show. Selected for The Wit’s Fresh TV Garden at MIPTV 2024, Couple Palace has showcased CJ ENM’s ability to create innovative formats that appeal to both domestic and international markets.
