FormatBiz | VTM Launches a Reality Experiment: Politicians Locked in a Castle for a Day

Political reality series Het Conclaaf (Tr. The Conclave) premiered on Thursday 16 May on VTM, in the run-up to the Belgian general elections.

The leaders of the seven major political parties move in together in a caste for three days to debate their differences, identify their similarities, and discuss how they can better collaborate in today’s political climate.

In joint and individual conversations, they offer insights into their beliefs and programs.
Alexander De Croo (Open VLD), Petra De Sutter (Groen), Bart De Wever (N-VA), Raoul Hedebouw (PTB), Sammy Mahdi (CD&V), Conner Rousseau (Vooruit) et Tom Van Grieken (Vlaams Belang) are featured in the show.

The Flemish press said that despite the intention "the program offered a dialogue among the deaf".
