A record 346 dramas from 48 countries will compete at the Seoul International Drama Awards 2024, announced by the Seoul Drama Awards Organizing Committee (SDAOC), chaired by Park Min. The international competition includes high-profile entries such as Netflix's 3 Body Problem, Tencent's "Blossoms directed by Wong Kar-wai, Paramount's Elsbeth, and Vancouver Media's Berlin. Notable submissions also include award-winning works from Canneseries and the British Academy Television Awards.
In the K-Drama category, standout entries include Disney+'s Moving, Uncle Samsik , Vigilante, Studio Dragon's Queen of Tears, Netflix's The Killer's Shopping List, and MBC's My Dearest. The competition for individual awards features prominent actors and directors like Kim Soo-hyun, Kim Tae-ri, Song Kang-ho, Susanna White, and Jack Williams.
This year's entries span all six continents, with newcomers Iraq, Latvia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina participating for the first time. Additionally, 53 dramas from 14 OTT platforms, including Netflix and Disney+, highlight the awards' global reach.
The winners will be announced at a live ceremony on SBS TV on September 25th, with side events featuring celebrities at Banpo Hangang Park from September 26-27. The event is sponsored by various governmental and broadcasting organizations.
