A+E Networks EMEA acquires documentary Beyond Borders
Quintus Studios, the international factual content distributor and channel owner announced that A+E Networks EMEA has acquired documentary series Beyond Borders which was created through the company’s disruptive partnership content funding model.

‘Beyond Borders’ (5 x 60’), is a heart-stopping documentary series featuring exclusive access to US immigration frontline services ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and ERO (Enforcement and Removal Operations) and was produced by US/ Irish indie Peninsula Television.

A+E Networks EMEA is the latest channel partner on ‘Beyond Borders’ joining DPG Media Group’s Belgian channel VTM and RTL Germany’s NTV in acquiring the series which also plays out across Quintus Studios’ Free Documentary channel in the US, UK, AUS, India, Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia.

‘Beyond Borders’ captures in gripping detail the high-stakes game of cat and mouse played out every day across America between law enforcement and those regarded as foreign criminals evading justice.

In recent years members of ICE and ERO, its removals division, have often had to set their strongly held feelings aside to follow orders with which they have vehemently disagreed. The process has been highly emotionally charged as officers with families of their own have dealt with heart wrenching cases of removal and deportation. ‘Beyond Borders’ is a compelling and heart-stopping documentary series that draws on exclusive access to ICE/ERO during the last year of Trump’s presidency.

The Quintus Originals' financing model sees Quintus partner with indie producers to co-finance projects alongside their AVOD channels and linear broadcasters, generating longer term income from the lifetime exploitation of productions across all potential broadcast and digital channels.

“‘Beyond Borders’ is a great example of the benefits of the Quintus Originals model. We're thrilled this series by Peninsula was embraced by A&E UK. It shows compelling content and great storytelling resonates in both the linear world as well as on digital” said Quintus Studios Head of Sales & Co Productions Anouk van Dijk.

Adam Jacobs is Executive Producer for Quintus Studios.
