Atresmedia has secured the rights to remake the entertainment show The Jump from the Dutch firm Talpa Studios.
Renamed ¡Salta! for the local audience and scheduled to broadcast on Antena 3, the Spanish edition will be produced by Buendía Estudios and will mark the third international version of the format, following adaptations in the Netherlands (RTL4) and Hungary (RTL).
In The Jump, contestants face off on a bridge 40 meters above the ground, answering a series of questions. The possible answers are positioned on the ground below the bridge. If the contestant leaps toward the correct answer, they will stay standing and progress. Choosing incorrectly triggers a trapdoor, causing them to fall. The aim is to answer all the questions correctly and complete the 10 jumps needed to cross the bridge and claim a substantial cash prize.
Atresmedia's acquisition of The Jump signifies a new partnership between the Spanish network and the Dutch production company headed by John de Mol, following the recent debut in Spain of the local version of The Quiz With Balls (Juego de pelotas).
In the past, Atresmedia also embraced The Floor, another Talpa format, which they adapted for a season last year.
