“Forget the old Mole, the one airing on Canale 5 will be an innovative and very experimental edition,” revealed CEO Pier Silvio Berlusconi. “It will be available first on Mediaset Infinity and then on Canale 5, with exclusive parts on both platforms.”
The hybrid approach between digital and flagship network follows the test of Viola come il mare 2, which aired first on Mediaset Infinity and later on Canale 5: “The Viola come il mare 2 experiment was very positive, and we want to raise the bar by trying with a reality show,” said Berlusconi. “It might impact ratings, but it’s a sign of modernity that we want to embrace.” The show will be hosted by Diletta Leotta, making her debut on Mediaset networks, with a cast of celebrities.
In addition to The Mole, slated for mid-October, confirmed shows include Grande Fratello in mid-September, L’Isola dei Famosi in spring, and Temptation Island, which will have both a Summer and an Autumn edition starting in September.
A new collaboration among Verissimo and Amici will bring more musical shows with The New Amici – Verissimo and major concerts, see the Italian singers Il Volo and Andrea Bocelli, Vasco Rossi, Pooh, Annalisa, and Laura Pausini. “Calling them concerts would be reductive,” the CEO explained, “these are mostly evenings specially packaged for TV.”
Specifically, Michelle Hunziker will host the evening dedicated to Pooh, recorded during their event concert in Piazza San Marco in Venice. Hunziker will also narrate the two evenings dedicated to Andrea Bocelli, whose concert recordings are currently underway.
Pio and Amedeo will return to Canale 5 with four evenings in spring 2025 and four in spring 2026. Other projects are also possible. “I don’t just believe in their comedic talent,” said Berlusconi, “but in their 360-degree talent.”
Canale 5 also renews Io canto, with its versions Io canto Senior, Io canto Generation, and Io canto Family. A new season of Zelig, the famous comedy program, and Lo Show dei Record are also planned. Hit quiz show Chi vuol essere milionario – Il Torneo will return in prime time, featuring a new mechanism where champions compete. A new musical program, The Ultimate Entertainer, is also coming.
All programs produced by Fascino are confirmed: Tù sì que Vales, Amici, C’è posta per te, and Temptation Island. Striscia la Notizia will continue in its access prime time slot.
Italia 1 will offer two new formats : Pleased to meet you and Il Formicaio. The former is an improvisation challenge, while the latter is a highly successful Spanish comedy format.
Italia 1’s offering is rounded out with great movies and football, featuring the first phase of the Coppa Italia (the second phase, with more decisive matches, will also be broadcast on Mediaset but on Canale 5).
