At the 54th edition of the Giffoni Film Festival, on Monday, July 22, Mediafriends, in collaboration with Infinity Lab, presents E’ successo, which was filmed in the
complicated neighborhood on the outskirts of Naples, a youth center, with 18 young adults ready to tell thei stories. These are the fundamental elements of the docufilm that will be premiered, out of competition, at the Giffoni International Film Festival dedicated to youth cinema.
The young people from the Murialdo Oratory have been participating for several years in the “A Regola d’Arte” project, initiated by the Onlus in 2014 to prevent and combat youth discomfort in the suburbs of Italian cities, utilizing the potential of music and rugby. This year, in addition to these activities, the young people from the neighborhood were able to take part in an experimental project dedicated to film acting.
The docufilm E’ successo narrates the personal journey, emotions, vulnerabilities, and great potential of these 18 preadolescents, under the guidance of director Ezio Maisto.
Starting from the concept of “personal success,” discussing what it means to be famous and who they consider to be famous, the idea of success evolved over the months. Through self-exploration, the youths concluded that true success lies in being able to put oneself out there, overcoming personal limits, and sharing their world fearlessly in front of a camera.
The docufilm E’ successo is written by Ezio Maisto and Rosario Gallone, directed by Ezio Maisto, and produced by Grey Ladder Productions. The songs "N’ata musica," “Pullecenella," "Dimane comm’ ajere," "Tredici primavere," "Se mai fossi," "Mirella è Felice," performed by the band La Maschera, have been kindly provided by Graf Srl.
