As the 81st Venice International Film Festival – La Biennale di Venezia approaches, Campari is once again set to infuse the event with its signature Red Passion. For the seventh consecutive year, Campari returns as the Main Sponsor, bringing a series of exclusive initiatives to honor the stars of the silver screen.
At the heart of this year’s offerings is the iconic Campari Lounge, a beloved fixture located at the Terrazza Biennale, in front of the Palazzo del Casinò. This year, the Lounge will host a series of masterclasses and events featuring renowned cinema personalities and emerging talents, all under the banner of creativity and passion. However, Campari is adding a surprising new venue to its lineup: Nicelli Airport. This location will be transformed into a red-hued spectacle for an unprecedented event that celebrates cinema and its protagonists, embodying the essence of Red Passion.
Kicking off the festivities in grand style, Campari will host an exclusive party at Nicelli Airport on Friday, August 30th. The airport, bathed in red for the occasion, will set the stage for an evening of intrigue, elegance, and passion. Guests, carefully selected for this event, will be taken on a mysterious journey, where they become the stars of their own cinematic experience.
Throughout the festival, the Campari Lounge will be the epicenter of artistic dialogue, hosting events that delve into the art of filmmaking. On Friday, August 30th, internationally acclaimed Italian actor Pierfrancesco Favino, who is competing with the film Maria, will open the Lounge’s schedule as Campari’s Ambassador. Favino will lead an exclusive masterclass, rich with passion and love for cinema, aimed at emerging talents and participants in Generazione Do, a project by Daniele Orazi that supports the new generation of Italian filmmakers.
On Monday, September 2nd, the spotlight will turn to Stefano Accorsi, a celebrated and versatile Italian actor and fellow Campari Ambassador. Accorsi will engage in a dialogue with young actors and winners of the Young Blood project, the first contest focused on the art of acting, launched by Alice nella Città and the talent factory DO Cinema. That evening, Campari will also host actress Sveva Alviti, the official "Madrina" of the 81st Venice International Film Festival, alongside previous "Madrine" from past editions, for a Red Passion-themed event in the Lounge.
On Friday, September 6th, during the premiere of Il tempo che ci vuole at Sala Grande in Palazzo del Cinema, the Campari Passion for Film Award will be presented. This award, established through collaboration between Campari and the Artistic Direction of the Venice Film Festival, honors the invaluable work of professionals who contribute to the artistic vision of each cinematic project. This year’s award goes to Paola Comencini, a distinguished set and costume designer whose recent works include C’è Ancora Domani, directed by Paola Cortellesi, and Il Tempo che ci vuole, directed by her sister Francesca Comencini.
Campari’s presence will extend beyond the Lounge, hosting exclusive after-parties featuring the casts of competing films such as Valerio Mastrandrea’s Nonostante and Sergio Rubini’s Leopardi. Il poeta dell’infinito. On Wednesday, September 4th, Campari will sponsor the after-party for Todd Phillips’ Joker: Folie à Deux at the Granai dell’Hotel Cipriani in Venice. The event will feature appearances by Joaquin Phoenix, Lady Gaga, Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, and Zazie Beetz.
As the Main Sponsor of the Venice International Film Festival, Campari reaffirms its dedication to the art of cinema, driven by its Red Passion. This passion is the creative force that inspires us all, guiding guests and viewers alike on a journey through the world of cinema, brimming with passion and creativity.
