Iberseries & Platino Industria Kicked Off at Matadero Madrid
The fourth edition of Iberseries & Platino Industria has officially begun on Tuesday, October 1 at Matadero Madrid, marking four days of dynamic engagement for professionals in the audiovisual industry. The event, which runs until Friday, October 4, has become the largest gathering of its kind for professionals in the Ibero-American audiovisual sector, covering Spanish and Portuguese content. Over 2,000 industry experts from nearly 50 countries have converged in Madrid for the event.

At the opening ceremony, Enrique Cerezo, President of the Society of Services for Audiovisual Producers (EGEDA), highlighted the significance of the event, stating: “Iberseries & Platino Industria has become the premier event for audiovisual industry professionals, bringing together promotion, financing, education, industry, and employment.”

The inaugural ceremony was attended by key figures including Enrique Cerezo and the Mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida. The event is driven by EGEDA and Fundación Secuoya, in collaboration with FIPCA and with the support of the Madrid City Council, Community of Madrid, ICEX Spain Export and Investment, and the Spanish Ministry of Culture and Sport. Additionally, the event is sponsored by Madrid Film Office and Film Madrid, with special collaboration from Spain Film Commission, UN SDSN (United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network), and the Madrid Audiovisual Cluster.

Record Attendance and Global Representation
Raúl Berdonés, President of Fundación Secuoya, underscored the event's growing influence: “This year, expectations have been surpassed once again, with 2,465 accredited attendees, representing a 20% increase from previous years. Half of these participants are international, with professionals from countries like South Korea, China, Japan, and Germany.”

This year, there has been a notable increase in participation from the United States, especially in the "US Day" dedicated to Hispanic content in the U.S. market. A substantial delegation from Brazil, under the "Brazilian Content" banner, is also present. European countries like Italy, France, the United Kingdom, and Germany have shown increasing interest in Spanish and Portuguese content, while Latin American nations such as Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay maintain a strong presence.

With over 120 activities planned, Iberseries & Platino Industria is set to offer an array of opportunities across four main areas: Conferences and Keynotes, Iberscreenings (including premieres and showcases), the Ibero-American Audiovisual Market (MAI), and PRO Activities, which cover co-production forums, platform pitches, and workshops on topics like showrunner training and AI in post-production. Additionally, there will be sessions on financial tools, content strategies, and cinema as an educational tool.

A total of 56 panels will be held, featuring nearly 220 top-level speakers. The event will also host exclusive screenings and premieres, with 22 sessions featuring content for 170 buyers and commissioners from 30 countries.

Among the key highlights is the presentation of 189 new projects, selected from over 1,300 submissions, during pitching sessions and the co-production forum.
