Five major Swiss and international production companies have launched Swiss Studios AG in Zurich, a new venture aiming to transform Swiss content creation in film, documentaries, and series for both local and global audiences.

"Swiss Studios is a groundbreaking step for the Swiss and European creative industries," says Dr. Malte Probst, CEO of Swiss Studios AG. With support from the recent ‘Lex Netflix’ law, Swiss Studios seeks to create innovative, high-quality content.

Shareholders include Elite Filmproduktion, Praesens-Film, Contrast Series, Bavaria Fiction Switzerland, and Kinescope Film, uniting their expertise to provide comprehensive production services from development to distribution.

Swiss Studios aims to be the heart of Swiss film and television production, inspiring audiences with cutting-edge storytelling and tech-forward production. “Our mission is to elevate Swiss cinema to the global stage,” says Board Member Ivan Madeo, while Matthias Greving highlights their focus on integrating digital tech and AI into production.

Thanks to Swiss film law changes, streaming platforms will invest in Swiss productions. "This support is crucial for realizing our creative visions and boosting Swiss content internationally," says Board Member Roger Kaufmann.
