Italy's beloved talent show La Corrida returns with Amadeus on NOVE
Starting from Wednesday, November 6, the cult Italian TV show La Corrida airs in prime time slot on NOVE. This iconic show was originally created in the 1950s by Italian television guru Corrado and his brother Riccardo Mantoni. Hosting from Milan, Amadeus brings his unique style to the stage, accompanied by a live orchestra of 30 musicians led by Maestro Leonardo De Amicis.

In each of the show's 8 episodes, produced by Banijay Italia and Corima, contestants—fondly known as "amateur performers"— present their eccentric and quirky acts. Two key ingredients define the show: fun and self-irony. Each week, everyday people, all non-celebrities, take the stage, ready to perform in front of a sometimes less-than-forgiving audience. Indeed, the live studio audience plays a central role in "La Corrida," showing their approval or disapproval with applause, bells, whistles, and even banging pots, once the green light is given. The winner walks away with the symbolic title of “most applauded.”

Each episode also features a celebrity judge with a special role, responsible for saving one contestant who will then advance to the finals. In the first episode, the guest judge will be Italian comedian Nino Frassica.
