Disney: 100 Years of Magic is a six-episode docuseries premiering exclusively on HISTORY Channel starting December 3, airing every Tuesday at 9:50 PM. The series chronicles Disney’s journey from its beginnings in the late 1920s to becoming a global cultural phenomenon, exploring milestones like the creation of Mickey Mouse, the production of animated classics such as Snow White, the revolution of merchandising, and the groundbreaking engineering behind Disneyland and Walt Disney World.

The first episode unveils the origins of Mickey Mouse during the 1920s cinema boom, highlighting Walt Disney’s vision for an animated character audiences could connect with. After losing the rights to his first successful character, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Walt collaborated with Ub Iwerks to create Mickey Mouse, debuting with the synchronized-sound short Steamboat Willie in 1928 to immense success.

The second episode dives into the challenges Walt faced producing Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937), the first animated feature with sound and color, which launched the billion-dollar animation industry.

Subsequent episodes explore Disney’s groundbreaking achievements: The creation of Disneyland in 1955 (Episode 3).The rise of merchandising under Kay Kamen, including the iconic Mickey Mouse watch (Episode 4).
