FANY Corporation, a member of the Japanese talent agency Yoshimoto Kogyo Group, in collaboration with NTT Docomo Studio & Live and Minto, launched FANY:D, a vertical short drama platform, that offers episodes ranging from one to three minutes in length. Viewers can watch the initial episodes for free, with subsequent episodes available through a pay-per-view model. The platform plans to release 15 works within the first month of its launch.
The platform features numerous talents affiliated with Yoshimoto Kogyo, including Hoshida Hidetoshi, Cocorico's Tanaka Naoki, Robert's Yamamoto Hiroshi, Fruit Punch's Murakami Takeshi, Hyokkorihan, Nelsons' Wada Manju, Kawaretei's Iwakura, and Soitsu Doitsu's Ichikawa Sashimi.
FANY Corporation intends to actively develop the intellectual property (IP) from these dramas into webtoons and television series, aiming to expand the reach and influence of their content.
The platform's concept is to "liberate human desires through short dramas," initially focusing on themes of revenge, betrayal, and complex romantic relationships. The goal is to provide content that resonates with viewers' emotions and experiences.
In the future, FANY plans to integrate with various services, including fan communities and crowdfunding platforms, to enhance user engagement and content diversity. They also aim to explore overseas localization, utilizing AI technology capable of understanding humor, to bring their unique content to a global audience.
