Everything begins with a black-and-white photo from July 6, 1946, showing a little girl holding a suitcase labeled Esule Giuliana. She is Egea Haffner, whose story starts when her father disappears, likely a victim of the Foibe massacres. On February 10, for the Giorno del Ricordo, Rai 1 premiered La bambina con la valigia, a TV movie directed by Gianluca Mazzella, based on the book by Egea Haffner and Gigliola Alvisi, with a script by Andrea Porporati. Egea's childhood in Pola, amidst WWII bombings, seems idyllic until 1945, when Yugoslav partisans take over. One night, her father Kurt is taken away and never returns. Rumors say he was thrown into the Foibe. Forced to flee, Egea moves to Bolzano with her grandmother and aunt, while her mother chooses a new life in Sardinia. Like thousands of exiled Italians from Istria and Dalmatia, Egea faces the pain of displacement and the struggle to rebuild her future.

Rai 2 premiered 99 da Battere, the new game show hosted by Max Giusti. The format, produced with Endemol Shine Italy, is the Italian adaptation of the Belgian format 99 To Beat, created by VRT and De Chinezen and distributed by Primitives. The format has already been a hit internationally, with adaptations in ten countries, including Germany, the Netherlands, and Norway. In 99 da Battere, one hundred contestants, aged between 18 and 98, will compete in a series of 99 fun and original challenges, with the sole goal of never finishing last. In each round, the last-placed contestant will be eliminated until only one winner remains, taking home the grand prize of €99,000.
