Passion Distribution’s Drag Race is getting a local version in Thailand, marking the competition format’s first adaptation in Asia.
The Kantana Group licensed the format and is in production on a local treatment titled Drag Race Thailand. The first season, presented by Art-Araya In-dra, will feature ten of the top Thai drag queens. The show is due to debut on February 15 on Line TV, which also airs the original RuPaul’s Drag Race.
Drag Race was created by U.S.-based company World of Wonder. The format was recently adapted in Chile, where The Switch Drag Race: El Arte del Tranformismo is broadcast on free-TV channel Mega.
