The first international agreement for Armoza Formats’ new prime time factual entertainment format Singerella, has now been signed with the UK’s Bandicoot TV (backed by the Argonon Group), who have acquired the local rights to the show.
Launched for MIPCOM 2018, this marks the second singing show developed by Armoza, following last year’s release of hit singing competition The Four. Singerella aims to provide a solution for broadcasters’ need for factual prime time formats and a singing show with stand-alone episodes.
Singerella (60’) is the feel-good show in which each week, 1 girl with unfulfilled musical dreams will get a fairytale surprise! Life has taken our talented and unsuspecting “Singerella” away from her music but now a top industry icon will give her the chance of a lifetime to sing with them in front of thousands of people. She will finally get the opportunity to experience the spotlight in the most magical way, an opportunity that could change her life forever.
Derek McLean, Managing Director of Bandicoot TV, “‘Singerella’ was a stand-out winner for us at this MIP market. It's a clever combination of Saturday night entertainment TV values, but with some great factual storytelling and some classic wish fulfilment. Bandicoot can’t wait to bring this to the UK, as a very clever new take on a familiar world.”
Avi Armoza, CEO of Armoza Formats, “We as a company believe that TV has the potential to do good in the world and ‘Singerella’ does so in the most magical way. By offering real people the chance to fulfill their dreams, this format truly allows for life-changing moments with which viewers everywhere will connect.”
