Talpa’s The Voice Senior has been recommissioned in Germany and Belgium after very successful first seasons in both countries. In Belgium the show secured an incredibly strong first season, scoring +20.9% in key demographics compared to slot average. In Germany an average of 2.5 million viewers tuned in each week to see which ordinary seniors turned out to have extraordinary voices. The Voice Senior is scheduled to return early 2020 on VTM in Belgium and on SAT.1 in Germany.
Just as audiences fell in love with the young contestants of The Voice Kids, they do the same as they get to know the inspiring singing seniors in this spin-off. The hit format is currently commissioned in 9 countries, ranging from Spain to Thailand to Mexico, with more countries expected to follow.
The Voice is an incredibly strong brand across the globe, scoring rock solid results in all territories, year after year. In Belgium a stellar 50% of the key demo watched the launch of the 6th season of The Voice on VTM this weekend.
According to K7 Media's comprehensive report on format sales (Tracking the Giants: The Top 100 Travelling TV Formats 2018/19), The Voice is the best-selling unscripted format of the last decade.
