Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) has partnered with Facebook in the U.K. for a live and interactive MTV quiz game show called MTV STAX.
MTV STAX, which has launched on Facebook Watch, is a free-to-play game that will broadcast live three times a week for ten weeks. Upon following the MTV STAX Facebook page, people will receive a push notification to their mobile devices alerting them to when a quiz is about to go live. In each game, players must answer a series of ten pop culture trivia questions for the chance to win a share of a cash prize.
Hosted on rotation by MTV presenters such as Tinea Taylor and Tyler West, all MTV STAX episodes will be shot at the company’s Camden-based studio.
Joanna Wells, Viacom’s VP of digital content for youth and entertainment, said: “We are always exploring new and innovative ways to engage and entertain our audiences, so we’re excited to be working with Facebook Watch as one of their first U.K. launch partners to develop MTV STAX. We know that there’s a great appetite at the moment for live interactive quiz shows and our fans are tapped into popular culture, so this feels like a very natural fit for MTV.”
