Discovery-owned lifestyle channel TLC is prepping a new family series that follows inseparable mother and daughter duos. sMOTHERED, produced by Bodega Pictures in association with New York Post Entertainment, follows four sets of mothers and daughters who are a constant presence in each other’s lives, doing everything together from dressing in matching outfits to sharing the same bath water and even sleeping in the same bed. It will be premiered June 9 at 10pm ET/PT n TLC.
These mother and daughter relationships cause tensions between other family members and significant others. As these women’s lives begin to change due to events like boyfriends, pregnancy and moving out, maintaining the same level of closeness is nearly impossible. Faced with the reality that their tight relationships could fray, these mothers and daughters are determined to find ways to stay attached at the hip.
The mother/daughter pairs featured in sMOTHERED include, Dawn (59) and Cher (27), whose relationship is tested when Cher admits that she’s been keeping a secret from her mom, as well as Sandra (44) and Mariah (20), a mother/daughter team who do everything together, including partying and double dating, but Mariah’s desire for Sandra to have more fun pushes the limits of traditional mom behavior.
“At TLC, we love showcasing heartwarming families and extreme relationships like viewers have never seen, and our mother/daughter duos in sMothered are unbelievably dynamic,” said Howard Lee, president and GM of TLC, in a statement. “We can’t wait to introduce these inseparable, obsessed, loving pairs to our loyal TLC fans as they share some of the most challenging and exciting moments in their lives.”
