Italy has become the latest country to run a broadcast test over a new 5G network.
Public broadcaster RAI is collaborating with MISE and the Municipality of Turin for Monday’s test that will accompany the Feast of St John the Baptist.
The Rai Research Center is planning to run the tests in both interactive and broadcast modes, allowing the use of 360° video, augmented reality and user interactivity.
Cameras have been located inside the square and on drones that will be flown across the area. Production is being handled at the Turin Production Center, by TGR Piemonte and RaiNews24.
An app from Global Invacom, will allow over the air reception on a mobile phone via an experimental receiver developed with the University of Braunschweig.
