The Southeast Asian Film Financing (SAFF) Project Market 2019 today announced the line-up of this year’s selection panel. They are Carlene Tan, Senior Manager of The Walt Disney Company (Southeast Asia)’s Animation Development; Anderson Le, the Co-director of Programming of Hawaii International Film Festival (HIFF), who is also the Programmer of the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film and the Programming Consultant of the Far East Film Festival, as well as Marie Roselle Y. Monteverde, Executive Vice President of Regal Entertainment, Inc.
With the plethora of experiences that the judges of SAFF Project Market 2019 possess, this year’s event will see the uncovering of the best up-and-coming content creators and film makers; matching them to relevant financing, distribution and co-productions partners, which helps to further enhance the infrastructure of the Asian content industry.
Since its inception in 2015, SAFF Project Market has established itself to be the region’s key film financing platform for filmmakers working in Southeast Asia with roughly half of the projects being produced, in the midst of being produced or in the process of acquiring financing. Notable projects include “Mina-Anud” by Kerwin Go, which premieres on 21 August 2019 in the Philippines, as well as “The Long Walk” by Mattie Do that has been selected for the Venice International Film Festival and is due for release this year.
