Idil Belli is General Director at Sera Film Services and she will be in Miami for NATPE on the dates 21 – 23 January, 2020.

 Sera Film, established in 1988, is one of the oldest and most experienced independent companies in the Turkish television and broadcasting industry. Its major business lines are distribution, production and content creation.

What are the highlights for NATPE Miami?

Our expertise is on formats and we primarily focus on the format rights in all genres. Recently, factual entertainment and social experiment are getting very attention. We are ready to introduce two original formats Boss Lady- it is a compelling and timely new reality format where women with little to no business experience take over their husband’s financially distressed businesses to try and turn them around - and Get Rekt - named as one of the five ATF Formats Pitch finalists - is a reality competition show on eSports where non-millennium age competitors born little too early for the whole eSports boom who never gamed or who stopped playing for whatever reason in the past strive to become eSports players after being coached intensively by young generation professional coaches for 12 weeks.
Also well-known quiz shows and previously produced works are interesting. So, we will introduce our very successful and huge- rating show Word Game, has been on air since 2009 with over 3000 episodes, winning more than 100 awards along the way. Contestants try to guess 14 words with the least amount of help possible to get the most points. With each letter being worth 100 points, contestants have to solve words with more letters each round, starting with 4 letter-words and solving up to 10 letter-words in the finale.

What are the trends in LATAM?

In recent research studies demonstrate that Latin America has been powerful for TV production and Brazil & Mexico dominates TV business around 75-80% of the market. Argentina is also investing in this regard for example they export 2,000 hours of content every year. This also impacted some changes in laws and regulations in these markets to initiate original, more local and easy to reach global content. Local producers also pay attention to aim more content with high quality while producing great amount of content.
So, we will be at NATPE to see trends and dynamics of US and Hispanic market and share our formats with the clients and networking stakeholders. For NATPE our spotlights will be a compelling and timely new reality format “Boss Lady” , and the social experiment game linking old and new generations together “Get Rekt” and truly a classic, with its witty and puzzling questions that engage viewers of all ages “Think!”
