Rai cultura to broadcast a new original documentary filmed in 4K titled I am Venice- The Story of the Serenissima Republic of Venice in 100’

The documentary is focused on the origins of the famous Italian city.
The history of Venice, reinterpreted through the voices of those who made it a unique city in the world and the images that speak of its infinite beauty.
The city is told by some historical characters, played by costumed actors and actresses, by reenactments and short monologues based on memoirs, diaries and archival materials.
The documentary is fulfilled with extraordinary shots of contemporary Venice in all its activities, day and night, and images dedicated to its most important works of art.
The story starts from the origins, when the city does not yet exist and, on the still waters of the lagoon, an imperial official, Cassiodoro, tells of the populations that begin to inhabit the area. The last protagonist of the doc is Alexandre Promio, Lumière cameraman who, in 1896, in Venice, on the Grand Canal, made the first "camera movement" in the history of cinematography.
"I am Venice" is a Rai Cultura project, conceived and written by Davide Savelli, Massimiliano Griner, Marta La Licata, Alessandro Chiappetta, under the direction of Graziano Conversano.
