Sony Pictures Television (SPT) is set to create a digital screening experience for international clients as an alternative to the studio’s traditional LA Screenings event.
Sony Pictures 2020 Screenings will feature the studio’s slate of new content via a virtual and on-demand screening experience, made available to clients in May. This will sit alongside activities in select markets, with further details to be announced in the weeks ahead, SPT said.
Content to be featured in the digital screening includes trailers and full-length episodes, as well as information about the series from executive producers.
Among the featured titles will be comedy series Woke and adult animated comedy Crossing Swords, both of which are set to launch on Hulu, as well as action drama Coyote and horror drama Chapelwaite, starring Oscar winner Adrien Brody.
International series include Sara Pascoe’s comedy Out of Her Mind, historical drama Angel of Hamburg, and Leonardo, which stars Poldark’s Aidan Turner as artist and inventor Leonardo da Vinci.
The virtual screenings come after this year’s LA Screenings were cancelled as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, with Disney, NBCUniversal, ViacomCBS and Warner Bros all set to join SPT in launching alternative ways for buyers to screen new shows.
