Featuring the new international title Can’t Stop the Music, the format that gets all the family singing along has been updated and also adapted to meet current COVID-19 safety guidelines. Keshet 12’s initial order of 5x60’, including a one-off Independence Day Special, is expected to premiere in a primetime slot on Wednesday nights from 22 April. Produced by Tedy Productions.
Led by Rising Star hosts Rotem Sela and Assi Azar alongside an expert improvisational pianist, two celebrity teams of Israel’s biggest stars compete in the studio to win a series of tricky musical challenges and puzzles, with viewers joining in the fun from home via video. Netta (2018 Eurovision winner), Mergui (the Israeli Justin Bieber), Moshe Peretz, Shiri Maimon, Miri Mesika, Keren Peles, Itay Levi, Noa Kirel, Harel Skaat, Ran Danker, Ania Bukstein, Maya Dagan, Eden Hasson, Eden Elena (who won last season’s Rising Star), Magi Azarzar, Dudu Aharon, Oz Zehavi, and Maya Buskila all feature.
To win, our celebrity contestants need to do more than just know the lyrics to the songs - they also have to sing them, demonstrating their musical abilities (or inabilities!) through their knowledge of song lyrics from across the musical spectrum. Rounds include ‘Name that Tune’ where notes are revealed as the teams successfully identify and sing songs featuring keywords, and also include an entertaining duet round, with one winning celebrity donating their cash prize to the charity of their choice.
