The Voice Charity Song on Sat1 in Germany is a strong brand

The Voice Charity Song on Sat1 in Germany is a strong brand
In the live final of The Voice Kids last night on Sat1, which strictly adhered to social distancing measures, German viewers not only saw Lisa-Marie being crowned the winner, they were also treated to the world premiere of the charity song ‘Niemals Alleine’ (Never Alone). The song, performed by 14 former talents from The Voice, The Voice Kids and The Voice Senior, is produced by Talpa Germany and marketed by Universal Music. The song spreads the message of standing together in this time of crisis, and all revenues will go directly to the charity organization Die Arche. The final was watched by 2.3 million people, up year on year from last year's final.

Universal released the song on various digital platforms such as Spotify and the video is available on YouTube music.

Says Kaspar Pflüger, Managing Director, SAT.1: “Our popular ‘The Voice’ brand in Germany connects people of all ages by the power of music and our gifted talents. With this 'The Voice Generations’ song, the entire ‘The Voice’ family wants to thank all fans and music lovers for their great social support and solidarity in these difficult times. All proceeds of the song will go to the aid organization ‘Die Arche’. We are very happy that our ‘The Voice’ family can offer a little help in times where it is urgently needed.”

Says Maarten Meijs, President Global Entertainment, ITV Studios, ‘I deeply value our long-term partnership with ProsiebenSat1, who helped to make this possible, together with Talpa Germany and Universal Music. Our global format brand continues to make an impact across the globe, even in this unusual time. We continuously work on finding profound production solutions to ensure continuity, as is demonstrated by the various creative solutions we come up with to continue to produce and air this feel good show, that brings entire families in front of the TV.’

Earlier this month, Swiss Channel 3+ had to refrain from their planned live final studio show. However, thanks to some creative adaptations, the Swiss audience didn’t have to miss out on the highlight of the season: the finalists sang live from their own living rooms. The show scored superior ratings and was #1 in its time slot.

In Portugal, a special benefit program called The Voice Portugal: Unidos Pela Voz (United by the Voice) aired on Sunday evening. In this special show, present and past coaches and talents joined forces to raise money for those affected by Coronavirus.

Elsewhere, the finals of The Voice Ukraine and The Voice Kids Russia both aired live, without audiences and taking all government measures into account, with Roman Sasanchin in Ukraine being the first Voice Kids winner to go on and win the adult edition.

The Voice has been a steady pillar in broadcaster’s schedules since 2010 and continues its roll-out across the globe, with the recent commission in South Korea. Also the youngest version of the Voice family, The Voice Senior continues to grow with 11 local adaptations currently. In Spain, the second season will air soon.
