Ukraine has become the latest international territory to commission a local version of breakout format hit The Masked Singer, following a deal with the show’s distributor Fremantle.
Media Group Ukraine has acquired the remake rights to the show, which originated in South Korea and has been remade by Fox in the US and ITV in the UK.
The Ukrainian version will air on Media Group Ukraine’s flagship national channel Ukraine under the local title Maska (The Mask).
The show sees celebrities perform well-known songs while wearing elaborate disguises, with panel of judges working together to figure out their identity. The Ukrainian version will consist of 12 episodes.
In February, NTV in Russia commissioned a local version of the format.
