NBC has commissioned a new version of the BBC Studios format Weakest Link with Jane Lynch as host and executive producer.

The revival will be co-produced by BBC Studios’ Los Angeles production arm and Universal Television Alternative Studio, with 13 episodes set to begin production later this year.

NBC says the new version will deliver the “fast-paced and quick-witted pillars of the original British format” with some modern twists.

Weakest Link is an iconic format that BBC Studios has distributed across the globe for the past two decades and has been produced in 44 territories around the globe. NBC’s first version launched in 2001.
