The German adaptation of Korean music game show format I Can See Your Voice starts premieres with stellar results.
The launching of the new primetime show, based on CJ ENM’s original format I Can See Your Voice and produced locally by Tresor TV, got strong ratings on RTL, on Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 19 August. Occupying almost the whole night of the broadcaster with 13.1% share in the commercial target demo, there were 2.14 million viewers on Tuesday. This made the show the most watched program in prime time across all channels in the commercial target demo, beating RTLs average share of the month in the commercial target demo of 9.8%.
The second episode broadcast the next day, with 1.85 million viewers turning in to make it the most watched program on the channel that day as well.
I Can See Your Voice is an Emmy-nominated format created by CJ ENM and premiered on channel mnet in 2015 and has been broadcasted for 7 seasons to date. The purpose of this show is to find, among six or seven contestants, which ones are good singers and which ones are tone-deaf based on their visual appearance and demeanor, and without hearing them sing live.
Diane Min, Format Sales Head at CJ ENM said “We are thrilled to successfully launch I Can See Your Voice on RTL, and are proud to be a part of this journey of creativity. We hope many viewers get a chance to enjoy such a great show, and that the success will continue in Europe, including on RTL4 in the Netherlands and BBC in the UK next year.”
Axel Kuehn, Tresor TV’s Managing Director adds, “I am so proud of everything our team at Tresor TV and our partners at CJ ENM have achieved over the last few months to bring I Can See Your Voice to RTL viewers in the current climate. An entertaining primetime shiny floor like this one is exactly what we all need right now on television screens!”
