Sky series Romulus to debut at Rome Film Festival
The first two episodes of Sky Italy series Romulus, about the events that led to the foundation of Rome, will launch at the Rome Film Festival that will take place from 15-25 October 2020 at the Auditorium Parco della Musica.

Produced by Sky, Cattleya and Groenlandia, the show comes from director Matteo Rovere, marking his TV debut.

The ten episodes were filmed in archaic Latin by Rovere alongside Michele Alhaique ed Enrico Maria Artale. Set eight centuries before Christ, the series charts an archaic and brutal world where the tribes of the Lega Latina have lived for years under the leadership of the king of Alba, but drought and famine are threatening peace and the life of the cities.

Romulus tells about this world through the eyes of the three protagonists, interpreted by Andrea Arcangeli (Trust, The Startup - Accendi il tuo Futuro), in the role of Yemos, Prince of Alba, Marianna Fontana (Indivisibili) in the role of the vestal Ilia, and Francesco Di Napoli (La paranza dei bambini), who plays Wiros, a young orphan and slave. The cast is completed by Giovanni Buselli (Gomorra - La serie, L'amica geniale), Silvia Calderoni (Riccardo va all’inferno), Sergio Romano (Il campione, La terza stella), Demetra Avincola (Fortunata, Loro 2), Massimiliano Rossi (Il primo re, Il vizio della speranza), Ivana Lotito (Gomorra - La serie), Gabriel Montesi (Favolacce, Made in Italy, Il primo re) and Vanessa Scalera (Lea, Imma Tataranni - Sostituto procuratore).

Romulus is written by Filippo Gravino, Guido Iuculano and Matteo Rovere. ITV Studios is handling international sales.

Romulus will debut in November exclusively on Sky and streaming on NOW TV.
