Pietre d’inciampo (Stumbling stones) is the title of the new docu-series created by Simona Ercolani (Stand by Me) on air by Rai Storia every Thursday at 8.45pm. The six-part series is dedicated to commemorate Italian Nazi-Victims. In each episode, the program tells the story of a person or a family persecuted by the Nazi.
The name of Stumbling Stones came for a German artist who had laid more than 70.000 stolpersteine stones making them the world’s largest decentralised monument to the Holocaust – but not everyone approves- In Rome several stones were removed.
The program tells the stories of local residents in Rome killed by the Nazis but also stories of survivors.
