Italian prodco Rai Fiction has appointed Maria Pia Ammirati as its new head.
Since 2014, Ammirati has been the director of Rai Teche, which manages all archived material produced and broadcast by pubcaster Rai throughout its history.
She is also the president of government-owned culture and cinema institute Istituto Luce-Cinecittà .
Eleonora Andreatta was formerly head of fiction at Rai but left the company in June to lead original Italian series at Netflix.
