Rai 2 will launch a new reality series La Caserma in January 2021.
The show is the local adaptation of ITV1 format Lads' Army, broadcast in UK in 2002.
In the original format a group of young people aged from 18 to 22 were living a one month experience in a military base.
The documentary series followed the 30 bad lads over a four-week period as they go through army basic training 1950s style.
The new Italian show is produced by new Italian production company Blu Yazmine led by Ilaria Dallatana for Rai 2.
The show is set in a military base of Levico in Trento.
