Leading independent distributor Hat Trick International (HTI) has picked up rights for new celebrity game show format TV Showdown, a re-vamped and modernised version of the highly successful entertainment series Telly Addicts, produced by Livewire Pictures.

Livewire Pictures has licensed the Telly Addicts format from its owner and creator Unique Television and reinvigorated the hit show while retaining all the brilliance of the original gameplay, with updated rounds, a refreshed contemporary look and a hilariously witty and popular host, Paul Sinha (The Chase).

The first series of UK version Paul Sinha's TV Showdown (6 x 45’) airs in prime-time on Saturday nights on ITV1 and has been a huge hit with a younger demo (16-34s).

Paul Sinha’s TV Showdown is a celebrity panel show where two teams of three celebrities do battle in the ultimate TV trivia quiz. Over four rounds, clips and questions cover TV shows, adverts and music videos from today and recent decades, with a final quickfire Q&A in round four. Well-loved comedian team captains Fay Ripley (Cold Feet) and Rob Beckett (8 Out Of 10 Cats) invite a galaxy of TV stars to join them to do battle in the greatest trivia quiz on TV. It’s good-natured celebrity fun and laughter all the way.

Host Paul, a quiz champion, stand-up comedian and TV trivia genius, has a natural passion for TV, encyclopaedic knowledge and rapier wit, which makes him the ultimate compere for this fearsome battle where the stakes couldn’t be any higher… celebrities’ pride is at stake!
