ITV has commissioned a brand new game show, The Void, which will air later this year.
This exciting new 7 x 60-minute series will see contestants put themselves to the test to take on a wide range of demanding mental and physical challenges - all whilst navigating the terrifying prospect of falling into ‘The Void’. The Void – a daunting and unforgiving chasm of 520,000 litres of water stretching across the arena floor - is one of the biggest bespoke water tanks ever constructed for a game show.
Made by Gameface Productions, each episode sees a new group of contestants take on a series of action packed games against the clock or each other. The aim? To make it across The Void without a spectacular fall from grace. The winner of each episode will get to take on The Void for one last time and a chance to win a jackpot of £25,000.
This thrilling, fun and at times, heart-stopping show will be hosted by Britain’s Got Talent and Dancing on Ice judge, Ashley Banjo and singer and presenter Fleur East.
Katie Rawcliffe, Head of ITV Entertainment Commissioning said: “The Void is a physical game show with a difference. The scale of the show will be vast and with Ashley and Fleur at the helm, The Void promises to be a great addition to ITV’s Saturday night family viewing.”
Adam Adler, Managing Director, Gameface said: "We've got two incredible hosts, a bunch of exciting games, 120 amazing contestants and 520 tonnes of water. I can't wait for people to see what happens when we put them all together!"
The Void will be filmed at M&S Bank Arena, Liverpool and has been commissioned by Head of Entertainment Katie Rawcliffe and Kevin O'Brien Commissioning Editor Entertainment. The Void is made by the multi-award winning creative team behind ITV’s original series of The Cube. Created and Executive Produced by Adam Adler. The series producer is Chris Lore, Director is Richard van't Riet.
Gameface is part of ITV Studios.
