Line in the Sand chosen at the 60th Monte-Carlo Television Festival to be held in presence next June
Israel’s most watched drama since 2015, Line in the Sand, has been chosen for the Official Selection of the 60th Monte-Carlo Television Festival, taking place from 18th to 22nd June 2021.

Co-created by director Rotem Shamir (Hostages, Fauda, Diamonds) and Yuval Yefet (Fauda, Diamonds) for Keshet 12 and produced by Koda Communications, the 8-part crime drama is a cautionary tale of obsession, sacrifice and how one detective's quest for justice shifts his moral compass to the extent that he loses himself.  Line in the Sand, recently renewed by Israel’s most-watched TV channel, will be in contention for its prestigious Golden Nymph Awards. *

27 programs from 14 countries have been officially selected to compete, across the Prince Rainier III Special Prize, the News and Fiction categories, for this outstanding recognition. The laureates will be announced at a glamourous Red-Carpet Awards Ceremony on the final evening of the Monte-Carlo Television Festival, on Tuesday 22 June, in the presence of the Honorary President, H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco.

Karni Ziv, Head of Drama and Comedy at Keshet Broadcasting says, “Everyone here at Keshet 12, Koda Communications and Keshet International is thrilled to see Line in the Sand receive a nomination for these highly regarded awards. Congratulations to everyone involved with getting this fantastic crime drama on to TV screens - both in Israel and around world. With season two underway, we are very much looking forward to attending the festival later next month in Monaco and celebrating with our fellow nominees.”

Laurent Puons, CEO of the Monte-Carlo Television Festival comments: "The nomination of a program in the Golden Nymph Awards is always a true sign of recognition. The quality of the 2021 Official Selection confirms, especially this year with the new format set up for the 60th edition, the worldwide reputation of our competition."

The Festival has made significant changes to the Golden Nymph Awards as long fiction programs, comedy TV series and drama TV series are combined into a single ‘Fiction’ category. Alterations have also been made to the ‘News’ category, which is divided into three major sections: news coverage, news documentary and documentary film. Finally, the Prince Rainier III Special Prize, awarded to the documentary that deals with environmental issues most effectively, has become a completely separate category.
Now in its 60th year, the Monte-Carlo Television Festival celebrates the very best of television and delivers marketing and public relations opportunities to producers and distributors looking to access international print and on-camera journalists to promote and support their sales to worldwide broadcasters.
