Dating show Love Island took home the award for Best International Reality Series at the MTV Movie & TV Awards last night in LA. The show faced some fierce competition from other big titles in the category such as Acapulco Shore, Geordie Shore, Nailed It! and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK. This is a fantastic recognition for the record-breaking dating sensation, which has already received several awards including a prestigious BAFTA award and two National Reality TV Awards.
In Love Island, a group of single “Islanders” compete for romance in the ultimate summer of love. But as always, the road to love never runs smoothly. In this sun-kissed reality, they must couple up, dump, and recouple whilst winning over the hearts of the public, all in an effort to win the ultimate prize... of love.
Love Island is owned by ITV Studios and Motion Content Group and is distributed internationally by ITV Studios. The hit show has been commissioned in 21 territories ranging from Australia and the US to Spain and the Netherlands and many more.
