ProSieben secures the license for the international dating show "Love is King" (w/t), in which singles are looking for a partner like they once did at the beginning of the 19th century. First dates at extravagant balls and limited communication options… will these single millennials survive without their trusted digital devices and moreover: find love without them? Love is King is developed by ITV Studios Germany, produced exclusively for ProSieben and distributed internationally by ITV Studios.
Hannes Hiller [in picture], Senior Vice President Development & Content Strategy Entertainment at ProSieben says, "Who still knows how dating works without a smartphone these days? In the dating show 'Love is King', time will turn back for our singles. Digital natives go on a romantic journey back in time to the 19th century to find their partner. It's going to be very fairytale-like. That's why we're delighted to be partnering with ITV Studios to show this program in Germany."
In Love Is King, sixteen millennials transform themselves into princes and princesses to find love. For three weeks they live together in a dream castle and vie for the favour of the King. If they want to find their perfect partner, they have to convince all along the line! Whoever can manage to find a steady dance partner for the all important ball nights, has a chance of winning the title and the cash prize of 50,000 euro. Who will convince the King and become this ball season’s ultimate dream couple?
