BBC3 has announced details on a new dating series, Love in the Flesh, which explores the world of online dating.
The series will be hosted by Zara McDermott , who has hosted the BBC3 documentaries Zara McDermott: Revenge Porn and the upcoming Zara McDermott: Sexism in Schools. It focuses on potential couples who have met through dating apps and social media, but haven’t met in real life. The couples, some of whom have been chatting for years and others for just a few weeks, will be whisked away to a beach house where they’ll get the chance to spend time together. If couples decide to split, there are opportunities to form new relationships and compare the chemistry of online versus real world connections.
Love in the Flesh (8 x 45 minutes) is produced by Ten66 Television. It was commissioned by Clare Sillery, head of documentaries, and Fiona Campbell, controller for BBC3. Commissioning editors for the BBC are Emily Smith and Max Gogarty. Executive producers for Ten66 are Andrew Robertson and Rukhsana Mosam.
