How did you come up with the idea?
I have always been interested in watching prime time singing shows. For more than ten years, I have pitched to our clients over 100 formats. I knew the format market well and what the customer was looking for.
One day, I saw a photo in a magazine. It was an ad with colorful cubes. I said it would be a unique idea to hide contestants inside cabinets.
I didn't want to create a show that was purely about singing. I knew a gaming element was always a good idea.
Then I remembered the "MEMORY Board game" I used to play in my childhood.
I decided to combine those two elements and come up with a fresh new idea.
The show is designed for primetime, for young generations and a family audience.
How does it work?
Beat Meet If You Can is a prime time singing game show. The format combines strategy, memory, talent and challenge elements.
It’s a new generation duet project. Each week ten contestants will take part in the show with a jury of 2 celebrity singers.
There are ten cabinets in the studio which hide the contestants. Before the competition starts, the contestants of the week will sing ten seconds of a song "A cappella". This will give the jury an idea about that week's contestants. Then each of them will hide in a cabinet. That’s where the game begins. Who is in which cabinet will be a total surprise.
For every song the jury will choose two contestants who will battle against each other. The contestants have no idea when they will be on stage, with whom they will do the duet and which song they will be performing.
They wait anxiously in their cabinets until the last minute when they are selected.
At the end of each performance, the audience will decide who has to leave the show and who will go back to their cabinet and continue the game.
How is it performing in Mena?
The Middle East was the first territory which believed in our project. We know the difficulties in adapting format projects. The production company did a great job. It is primetime on Saturday nights on the public SBC Channel.
The local name is "Your Voice is Stronger"
In its first episode it became a trend topic on Twitter. They used very young and very popular singers for the jury. The contestants are also young, so they attract the attention of young audiences.
On TikTok some videos have been watched over 7 million times, which is huge.
What are you plans for the marketing campaign of the show?
The project will be the next MIPTV's highlight. We believe the project will create a lot of buzz in the market.
