The Sicialian capital is the perfect locations for many directors who choose to film in the Italian Island.

At the moment there are six sets open in the city. Rai 1 is filming a new biopic about General Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa murdered in 1982 by the mafia, starring Sergio Castellito.
Director Emma Dante (Le Sorelle Macaluso) is filming the movie Misericordia. Lux Vide is shooting the series Viola come il mare, starring turkish actor Can Yaman and Francesca Chillemi. Taodue Film is filming a new mafia series titled La Ragazza di Corleone, starring Rosa Diletta Rossi, about a girl passionate about fashion, but born in a criminal organization. The series is produced for Mediaset's Canale 5.

Actor Luigi Lo Cascio is the main character of the movie Spaccaossa based on a real event occurred in Palermo. Toni Servillo and Ficarra & Picone are the are the protagonists of the new film directed by Roberto Andò.
