In the lead-up to BBC Studios Showcase which takes place 28 February to 2 March 2022, BBC Studios today announced that addictive guessing game format This is MY House is heading to the Netherlands. Commissioned in the UK for an extended second series on BBC One this year, Talpa Network has secured the first international format licence to adapt the hit entertainment series for the Dutch audience.
The six-part Dutch adaptation known locally as Dit is mijn huis, sees four people all claim to be the same person and that “This Is MY House”. A panel of celebrities consisting of actress Ilse Warringa, comedian Klaas van der Eerden, TV host Olcay Gulsen and actor/comedian Richard Groenendijk will be tasked with deciphering which “homeowner” is telling the truth and which are the actors. Hosted by Kees Tol and produced locally by Blue Circle, locations in the dutch adaptation include a revolving house in Alkmaar and a 100-year-old house with 11 rooms. The series will air on SBS6 from Wednesday 9 March at 8.30 pm (CET).
Originally created by Richard Bacon and Nick Weidenfeld, and produced by Expectation in the UK for BBC One, This is MY House had UK viewers hooked with millions playing along and debating who would be the real homeowner on social media. The series will return to BBC One and BBC iPlayer for an extended run of ten episodes this year.
André Renaud, SVP Global Format Sales at BBC Studios said: “What is great about this format is how the whole household can play along together to try and determine the real home-owner, or viewers can have fun just sitting back and watching the celebrity panel blunder or triumph in their choices. My friends and I loved playing along when the series aired in the UK to try and guess who the real homeowner was, and I thoroughly expect this new Dutch version will spark the same debate for viewers when it airs on SBS6.”
This is MY House is one of the entertainment formats being presented to international customers at BBC Studios Showcase this month. Other unscripted formats include:
