Armoza Formats, part of ITV Studios, has announced the international launch of Beat the Average, a new prime time entertainment format where you don’t need to be the best to win… you just need to beat the average of the people – a group of 100.
This marks the second format launched as part of Armoza’s spring slate joining the recently announced, Drive Therapy.
From Armoza Formats, comes new studio entertainment format Beat the Average! In each episode, a team of three contestants – friends, family, co-workers – compete together in the studio in unique challenges across a wide variety of categories. In three stages that get harder and harder, they’ll be competing against the people – a group of 100 individuals who do the same task to get an average score. Will they beat the average distance for holding their breath under water? How about stomping grapes? If they can beat the average, they’ll win cash. As the tasks get harder, pros will enter the group of 100 to boost the average score. If the team wins, one final task awaits giving them a chance to win big money!
Amos Neumann, COO of Armoza Formats, “This fun and feel-good format brings a new spin on the genre, where you don’t need to be the most talented to win, making it more relatable for viewers at home. With strong visuals, scalable challenges and strong social and digital opportunities due to the variety of challenges, ‘Beat the Average’ offers the full package.”
