99 To Beat scores big in Belgium
A new series of the hit format ’99 To Beat’ was successfully launched in Belgium last weekend. The fifth series was aired on Saturday 27th August at 8.30pm at pubcaster EEN. The series kicked off with a smashing 31,2% share in demo 18-54 and 607.378 viewers (live+1), capturing the #1 position of the prime-time evening slot.

The Belgian format, created by VRT and De Chinezen under the local title ‘Homo Universalis’, first aired in 2018 as a segment of the popular daily magazine ‘Everybody’s Famous’. Since then, the pubcaster has aired multiple series including two kids-versions on KETNET. Local versions have been aired in The Netherlands (SBS), Poland (TTV/Discovery) and Germany (Sat1). A third German version was recently commissioned and is scheduled for 2023. A Swedish version is set to tx this Fall on a to be announced broadcaster.

‘99 To Beat’ is a studio game show where 100 contestants compete in 99 everyday challenges. You don’t have to be the fastest or smartest, just make sure you don’t come last as one player faces elimination after each challenge. After 99 challenges, one multi-talented player is the last person standing and goes home with the big prize.
